FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE MALL AT ROBINSON JOINS FORCES WITH ROBINSON TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT

Robinson Township Police Department Opens its First Police Sub-station on Wednesday, November 15

PITTSBURGH, November 1, 2006- The Mall at Robinson today announced Robinson Township Police Department will open a Police Sub Station within the Mall.  The sub station will be located on the lower level across from the Mall Management Office.

The police sub station is the first of its kind in Robinson, and it will be easily accessible to the public and offer a variety of resources from information on the D.A.R.E. program to protecting your home or business and the fast-growing fear of identity theft. “The Mall at Robinson is considered a ‘hub of the community’ and the addition of the Police Sub Station further enhances our commitment to the residents of the area,” said Beth Edwards, general manager, Mall at Robinson.

“Having a store front office will give the public free and open access to come in and talk with police officers and get information on community programs in a casual setting,” said Dale Vietmeier, Robinson Township Chief of Police.

The office will facilitate a variety of community related activities. Citizens will be able to obtain information on community programs such as D.A.R.E. and neighborhood watch.  “We hope the office will also encourage people to simply stop in and continue to build relationships with the citizens of our community,” Vietmeier said.

A grand opening celebration will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 at 11 a.m.  Local dignitaries and the Airport Area Chamber of Commerce will be on-site for the ribbon cutting ceremony.  Residents are invited to join us and come see the new sub station.
